My work over the last ten years has been an ongoing obsession with a few reccurring themes, religious iconography- mainly catholic, alchemy, rock and roll, ecology and fire. I am intrigued by the transmutation of material from one state to another through the application of heat and work in a variety of materials that are reactive, namely iron, bronze, aluminium and sugar
For the past six years I have been working in cast iron, building furnaces and taking part in large scale iron casting events which involve elements of performance.
This July I was the co-chair of the 6th International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art held in Kidwelly, West Wales.
